About Us

Range Buddy™ was born out of necessity.

  1. Cost — When I first started shooting steel, I couldn’t afford a full stand setup. The commercial ones were overpriced, complicated, and honestly, poorly constructed — one bad shot and you’d ruin something you paid too much for.
  2. Safety — Chain mounted targets swing too much, deflecting lead globs in random directions and will break off if you hit the carriage bolt or the chain links.
  3. Utility Storing and transporting bulky frames is a nightmare, folding frames break, assembly types require tools; and the list goes on. On top of all the setup, teardown, and storage hiccups, the targets themselves don't encourage precision. Its either a blob of paint for a bullseye, or a sticker that either falls off mid grouping, or you have to peel off all the sticky shreds at the end of the day. 🤮

I saw these problems in the industry and knew we could do better as a community.

The solution had to be: cheap to maintain, safe to shoot, strong enough to last, versatile enough for different shooters, compact enough to fit in a range bag, and why not make it fun while we're at it?

All of our products are built around standard 2x4s — cheap and replaceable — and all critical parts are made from AR500 steel, so you only need to buy them once. Everything is designed to be fast to set up, safe to shoot, and satisfying to use.

Our Mission

Range Buddy exists to make shooting safer, more approachable, and more sustainable for everyday people.

I believe good gear shouldn’t be bought twice — and that range time should be spent practicing skill, respect, and spending time outside with the people who matter. Not setting up your targets.

My mission is to build a community of shooters who care about doing it right — using better materials, safer designs, and sharing knowledge to keep the sport growing in the right direction.
